The majestic city of Chichen-Itza awaits you, capital of he ancient Maya, a civilization archaeologists consider one of he most advanced in
the Americas. This mysterious city was an important ceremonial center. See the magnificent pyramid of Kukulcan (75 feet high): he
temple of the warriors, the ball court, the observatory and the sacred well, the place where countless victims were sacrificed to ancient
gods. Chichen Itza is  the archaeological site in the region. There is old Chichen Itza which is the ancient Maya buildings and New
Chichen Itza which is the new pyramid buildings that were built on top of the ancient Maya buildings. One may enter the big pyramid to
view the old construction inside with its famous Maya stile.
Chichen Itza is 2:30 hrs from Cancun ,Same distance from Merida.

Tulum is now better known as a beach destination than its original archaeological relevance. The archaeological site is small but its location
is unique for an archaeological site. Situated on top of a hill overlooking the ocean offers a spectacular view of the Mexican Caribbean Sea.
In 'Tulum village there are dozens of guest houses mainly aimed to backpackers. The ocean front hotels are low rise and rustic but quite
expensive for rustic beach. Nudity is pretty normal in Tulum's beaches.
3 hrs to Chichen Itza, 45 min to Xcaret, 15 min to Akumal, 10 min to Xelha.

From Tulum you will journey to Xel-ha the perfect spot for snorkeling and relax. This natural aquarium is famous for its thousands of
brightly colored Tropical fish and the Aramaic limestone formations. Xelha still offers the best snorkeling in the area. Easily reached from
Cancun.

Playa del Carmen is a small village that used to be a fisherman's town, that has long disappeared. It is a busy small village with nice crowded
beaches and a main Av , 15 blocks long where most restaurants and boutiques stand one besides the other. The atmosphere of the town is
relaxed and casual.
From Playa del Carmen, 45 min to Tulum, 45 min boat ride to Cozumel , one hour to Isla Mujeres, 3 hrs to Chichen Itza, 10 min to Xcaret.
